We came to Kashmir after a two days long journey and we were supposed to stay at a good place for quarantine but as we reached Tourist Reception Center around 10pm the officials completely denied to send us to any hotel. They forced us to stay in Kashmir University Zakura Campus.
This is a boys hostel where people have previously been quarantined as well but the facilities here are terrible. Firstly, there are common washrooms for both genders which are so unclean that one cannot even look at them. There are no options for privacy for girls.
When asked to clean the washroom, they told us to clean them on our own. Secondly, the concept of social distancing is not being followed here. We are being given filthy food by these people and they are following no rules at all. They are not even wearing gloves or masks.
Rooms are used, dirty and stinking. Beds are covered with stains and hair strands. We cannot stay here and we need help as soon as possible.
It actually hard to live at a place like this when we actually wanted to do quarantine for everybody's safety. We need help.
Also, I just got to know that around 50 positive cases were quarantined here only. We are not sure what to do about it now. Is anybody listening? We are not demanding for elite treatment. At least basic rights are what we should be given. We are anxious here.
