"ugh why are all the good content creators problematic??" well, i can tell you from personal experience that the insecurity and doubt that comes with never knowing what you'll get criticized for can seriously diminish one's creative drive.
"but i'm only against incest/pedophilia/[insert thing here]!" then why are your friends always criticizing creators for so-called out of character content, unrealistic aus, unlikely ships, and more? you're telling me that doesn't make you doubt your own content?
when you internally police all of your own content before even daring to release it to the masses, it loses its life. so yes, creators are going to have better content when they aren't constantly second-guessing and adjusting their creations based on what others might think.
(i didn’t make it too clear that this thread is about fan content, which might make the second tweet confusing, but honestly this applies to any kind of content creator.)
