I have a little bit of a controversial opinion that most leftists I think will dislike and Im not even trying to argue, I kinda want to hear the other side of this because I kinda dont get it. I am a brown man and I am very proud of being brown and sometimes I feel like that we
discourage white people from being proud to be white. Let me be clear I hate white supremacism, just as I hate supremacism of any color and I understand being a minority in this country is a different experience than being white however I dont see the harm in being proud of being
white, if its in the same way that I am proud of my own roots. In fact one of the most important parts of my Afghan heritage is being proud of who you are and I do not want to take that away from other people. To me just saying you can be proud of being anything except white puts
white people in a different class almost as if that them being proud of their roots is racism in it of itself. its sounds like oh white people are so superior they cant be proud because thatd be dangerous and i dont believe that for a second. I know some people will disagree with
this and i want to understand why, im not trying to argue, just understand a different perspective.
I really appreciate all your responses and helping me better understand why some disagree with me. Ngl you’ve made some convincing arguments and I think I might have to reconsider
