21 more days and no real end in sight. A couple of things to remember (notes borrowed from experience):
Get something living in your space. Even a plant will do, something you can nurture so that you can refocus.
Choose music for the day and play it right from the minute you wake up. It will set your mood.
Get into a routine that marks the beginning of the day and the end of the day even if the inbetween bits are in shambles. Example:
Whatever time you wake up, make your bed and shower.
Before you sleep make yourself a hot cup of herbal tea (peppermint, chamomile, or fennel).
Open the windows. Let air flow through.
Choose a regular activity for 1 or two days a week. It may be that you exercise, read a book but make that Mondays you... Tuesdays you...
Drink water. Hydrate. You are not moving as much so you will not get thirsty but hydrate to keep refreshed and to reduce the feeling of feeling "beat."
Eat fruit.
Lean on the strength of the arts. There are a whole bunch of concerts online, not just in Kenya. Google them. Tune in.
If you can't read long books, read poetry. There's lots online.
There are also lots of craft DIY episodes on Youtube.
Most of all be gentle on yourself. If you fight against yourself, you will break yourself. This can only unfold positively if you take each day as it comes. If need be each hour.
This applies for our lockdown but also for grief, trauma and burnout. Be kind to the body vessel and spirit that has carried you this far. Perharps it is time to let it rest and reset.
Finally. Get some sun. I can't emphasise the importance of Vitamin D, enough. Even if it is not outside, sit in the light of sun.
Oh and wear a watch. It helps you keep track and stay mentally present in a very surprising way.
