#Construction might not be as sexy as #tech but you can build a lucrative fulfilling career that not many people know about. People in this profession earn upwards of £80k!

Here’s a thread on why you should consider going into Construction 🚧 🔨
There’s this misconception that the industry comprises of mostly blue collar jobs and that’s not the case!
You can be a:
-Site Manager
-Construction Manager
-Project Manager/assistant
-Technical Co-ordinator
-Quantity Surveyor
-Estimator

It’s not just builder jobs!
Now let’s get into salaries

These are the AVERAGE annual salaries of:

1. Commercial Manager- £84,000
2. Project Manager- £58,000
3. Construction Manager- £53,000
4. Site Manager, £42,000

As well as salaries being far higher than the national average, you also benefit from greater job security.

This is because:

1. Skills shortage- the industry is CRYING for qualified professionals. There’s a skills gap that needs to be filled

2. Need for housing in the U.K.
Another benefit of this industry is the opportunity for flexible working.

Things are done on a project to project basis which means for many contractors you can work for 3 months earning a day rate of £500 then take the next 3 months off and come back to work on something else
Construction is a great option for those who don’t want to sit in front of a desk all day! You can be out and about talking to people and working from a site. It’s a great career for those who don’t like being stuck inside in an office environment
The construction industry is SEVERELY lacking in gender and racial diversity. Only 13% of the workforce are women and and the same figure applies to BAME workers. Only 13%

So what does this mean? This is a great time to join the industry if you’re a woman or ethnic minority!
If you’re a minority in this industry you are greatly sought out! The industry is in need of diversity so you can really break in and build a name for yourself honestly. There are so many industries ethnic minorities don’t consider and this NEEDS to change!
I have a FREE webinar on the 30th of May where I break down the different sectors, opportunities and job roles. There will also be a live Q&A with working professionals.
