Food for Thought: Think About it. 🤔

Somewhere right now, a mother is seriously disturbed about how to get a loan to finance the wedding dinner of her daughter at Meena event centre even though her cumulative family income is just N120 000 monthly.
Somewhere last week, a husband of 2 and a father of 7 children who live in a rented apartment took a loan to buy a car he'll only use for non-commercial purposes.
A few months back, a young man used his school fees to buy an iPhone 11, while his friend stole a laptop to buy the latest Samsung galaxy phone.
Just yesterday, a young female medical student lied to her poor old man to send her N30 000 for stethoscope (which she still doesn't have) and used it to buy a designer shoe & bag to 'slay' in a friend's upcoming birthday party.
Somewhere today, a girlfriend is threatening to end a relationship because her betrothed - an artisan who has been affected by the #COVID19 lockdown - has failed to bring kayan shan ruwa and kayan Sallah.
Some years back, I was told of a lady who nearly committed suicide out of embarrassment because a guy asked for her BB chat pin and she only had a Nokia C2.
Hmm! Just recently I learned that on Twitter, the description "Twitter for iPhone" is seen as a peripheral stigmata/indicator of a good life and high class in the society, and people are mocked for tweeting using Android. 🤔
Still, on the same street (Twitter), I learned that people borrow friends' phones and go to nice public buildings & friends' houses to take portrait pictures to quench the thirst of their virtual followers.

********
See the thing is life is dynamic and things that really matter today will be laughed at a few years later. So don't kill yourself over anything in this world.
#Thinkaboutit 🤔
Just like #Nokia & #Blackberry, a few days from now #iPhone11 will also cease to be a luxury. A few years from now, the next generation will laugh at the sort of Benz & Ferrari we so much crave and die for just as we laughed at the Beetles & Peugeot 504 that our parents used.
ADVICE

So dear young man/woman, as you embark on this journey of life, let me give you some advice:
Get your priorities right!

Know the difference between need and want.

Be prepared to sacrifice immediate & temporary gratifications for long-term benefits.

Be humble! Be simple!

Don't be materialistic.

Seek for God's guidance and blessings.
In dai ka dauki rayuwa da sauki, to lallai kaci babban jarrabawa, zaka samu rayuwa da sauki kuma ka rabauta, in sha Allah.
