A science fiction film starring Jane Fonda as Barbarella, a space traveller on a mission to find a scientist who has created a weapon that could destroy humanity.
Queen and Slim (2019)
Directed by Melina Matsoukas and written by Lena Waithe. A romantic crime film about a couple that go on the run after killing a cop during a traffic stop.
Marie Antoinette (2006)
Sofia Coppola’s film about the iconic French queen. This film won the Acadamy Award for best costume design and rightly so, I want to buried in these dresses.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)
A terrible bond movie but the fashion is peak 60’s/70’s and is major style inspo imo.
Mohogany (1975)
Queen Diana Ross plays Tracey Chambers, a struggling fashion design student who eventually makes her way in the Italian fashion industry. Amazing movie btw...
The Talented Mr Ripley (1999)
I mean obviously. Great film, amazing aesthetic and incredible costumes.
Desperately Seeking Susan (1985)
I wouldn’t necessarily call it g o o d fashion but this film features MADONNA (!!) and is peak Madonna fashion. It’s about 2 women interacting through the personal column in a newspaper.
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
The hottest cast in existence and the most luxe and amazing fashion. If you haven’t seen it yet go and watch it right now.
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
I mean duh, it’s directed by Tom Ford... about a art dealer in LAs elite society. So sexy.
Alice In Wonderland (2010)
Definitely more fantasy fashion, but Tim Burtons dark and mysterious vibe is phenomenal. Probably some of my fave film costumes.
Moulin Rouge (2001)
The best most sexy costumes ever, makes me so proud to be a dancer. Also love to support Aussie directors and costumers.
The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
No comment needed. The most iconic fashion film of all time, change my mind.
Okay so I definitely missed a lot so here are some more amazing fashion moments in movies!!!
Clueless (1995)
One of the most iconic coming of age films ever. Cher Horowitz and her best friend Dionne befriend the new girl and give her a makeover. It’s also loosely based on the Jane Austen book Emma. “Ugh as if!”
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert (1994)
Had to put another iconic Australian movie in this thread. Truly the definition of camp, drag fashion. Follows 2 drag queens and a trans woman as they travel across the Australian outback. One of my top 10 movies.
In The Mood For Love (2000)
A Hong Kong romantic drama about a man and a woman whose partners have an affair together. They eventually begin to have feelings for each other. And just quietly Maggie Cheung is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen.
The Great Gatsby (2013)
Baz Lurhmann’s rendition of the iconic F. Scott Fitzgerald book. I think the height of the roaring 20s the fashion is phenom!
The Millionairess (1960)
Sophia Loren as an unbelievably wealthy woman on the hunt for love. Her wardrobe was designed by Pierre Balmain! Um hello? Sex on legs...
Romeo and Juliet (1996)
Another masterpiece by Luhrmann. Baby DiCaprio? Absolutely...
Gone With The Wind (1939)
An adaption of the iconic book. The green and white dress makes me want to cry it’s so beautiful.
