A thread on why Samurai Champloo is my favorite anime.

1) The OST is hands down my ATF. The OP Battlecry perfectly captures the show's essence, a blend of hip-hop themes w/ traditional Japanese customs. The ED w/ Minmi, pure perfection. With Nujabes as a producer, you experience a whole set of vibes while watching the show.

2) The show has a fairly simple plot with only 26 episodes. Two Samurai help a girl search for a Samurai that smells of sunflowers. People may have an issue with how episodic the show is, but that's the nature of the trio’s adventure across Edo Japan together.

3) The fights are very thrilling. The animators do a great job of depicting the swiftness of the sword slashes.

4) Themes in the show heavily impacted me when I watched it as a youngin. Honor, responsibility, loyalty, purpose, and companionship. Although the trio are all different from each other, their morals make them similar and this becomes more apparent as the series progresses

5) Mugen the Vagabond and Jin the ronin are GOATED.

6) Samurai Champloo is the only anime w/ the GOAT Mugen!
He has a “don’t give a fuck” attitude but his actions speak otherwise and he embodies the idea that talent w/self-taught skill can rival those taught by institutions meant for the elite.

7) Overall Samurai Champloo brings a fun watching experience and has vibes that any anime lover can’t pass up on! WATCH SAMURAI CHAMPLOO!
