A 19th century automaton of a TERRIFYING monkey pastry-chef serving the severed head of an equally creepy cat in a pastry pie.
Made by French toymakers Roullet & Decamps, circa 1880.

All automata are pretty weird, but something about this monkey particularly gives me the creeps.
Ernest Decamps kept it his personal collection all his life, I'm assuming in order to torture his ungrateful children. The family finally sold it at auction in 2014 through Douglas Fisher Antiques for over USD $36,000, plus the cost of extensive therapy for recurring nightmares.
