a thread of the impact sotus and singto krist made since the time it was released until now
sotus was released when bl series weren't popular back then and only had few bl dramas released every year. sotus basically took part paved the way for bl series to be recognized by audiences. it's also blueprint of the bl industry bcs of the massive success it made.
according to this data, it is shown that since the release of sotus, gmmtv company profit increased a lot as how they were almost went bankrupt back then in year 2015.
on youtube, sotus got 226.5M+ views and sotus s got 116.5M+ views as of today. while in linetv, sotus got 125M+ views. both sotus and sotus s also got into the top 10 ratings in douban china as for thai bl series category. sotus also released on netflix and get high rating.
back then sotus is listed in top 10 highest rating tv series and got 0.92 rating which from what i found it's a really high one for a bl series.
sotus/singkit as couple already held 34 fanmeets/events where 25 of them are overseas. each fanmeetings also got a lot of audiences, which i believe shows that peraya is one of the biggest and most loyal fandom.
whether sotus as series or singto and krist as individuals, they got 21 awards started from 2017 and those includes 9 awards of singto and krist together as best couple awards.
two most associated things in the bl series nowadays, the famous pink milk (nom yen) and engineer were also started from sotus.
sotus and its' charm, the slow-paced story. a lot of people loved how sotus has the slowburn plot but it's not because of dramatic or unnecessary parts, but because it shows the real struggle and efforts that has to be done by every character.
for example, like how arthit struggled identifying himself, opening up his feelings to anyone, being expressive, having insecurities towards himself which those are things that happening in the real life and society.
while kongpob himself, he's never forcing arthit to give feedback for what he did and kongpob's always prioritizing consent. he waited until arthit went comfortable around him as he slowly showing his feelings to him.
now if you're talking about intimate scenes, sotus didn't need explicit bed scene or them making out. but if you watch it carefully, kongpob & arthit has a lot of implied intimate scenes. for example, the toothbrush.
another thing, sotus has never made women in the series as the 'villain' or the 'bad one' character. did may and khaofang hold any grudge to kongpob/arthit after they were rejected by kongpob? they didn't. i love how women in the sotus shown as good friends too
up until now, i believe we still can see sotus or singkit nominated in awards despite they don't have any recent series. yes, the power sotus has will always be there.
and this is the end of the thread. thank you for willing to read it and please kindly let me know if i make any mistake. thank you everyone ♡
