The historians and people who supported idea that Rana Sanga invited Babar gave a very feeble logic that he invited him because he thought that he would come, attack, overcome Lodhi & would go back to his kingdom and then this would be easier for Sanga to dethrone Ibrahim Lodhi. https://twitter.com/sumllo_ka_pampa/status/1261390601141907457
Now let’s examine this logic. We believe this theory but we also have to ponder that Sanga was not crazy.

The first question is, how could he be so confident of Babar that he would defeat Ibrahim?

What makes us believe that he would have not thought of reverse i.e. Lodhi’s win?
At the same time, why was he so assured that Babar would return to Kabul after defeating and plundering Lodhi?

Now let’s also examine the might of Rana Sanga.

Rana Sanga was the head of a powerful Hindu Rajput confederacy in Rajputana during the 16th century.
He was brave king who was known for his courage & tenacity stood united and fought against Jihadi Muslim invader.

He was most powerful king of that time. Rana Sanga was not only great warrior who fought invaders gallantly but also visionary, under whom many Rajput states united.
In Col. James Tod’s words “Eighty thousand horse, seven Rajas of the highest rank, nine Raos of Gwalior, Ajmer, Sikri, Raesen, Kalpee, Chanderi, Boondi, gagrown, Rampoora, and Aboo, served him as tributaries or held him in chief”

He further says, “He had gained 18 pitched battles against the kings of Delhi and Malwa. In two of these he was oppsed by Ibrahim Lodhi in person,at Bakrole and Ghatoli, in which last battle the imperial forces were defeated
with great slaughter, leaving a prisoner of the blood royal to grace the triumph of Cheetore.”
Babar himself mentioned Rana Sanga in Babarnama with a great respect. In fact, Babar had confessed that he was afraid of Rajput bravery, courage and heroism.

Babur records how his troops were defeated by Rajput forces of Rana Sanga at Bayana. His troops praised Rajput Bravery.
The great Rajput warrior Rana Sanga destroyed the Lodhi army of Delhi Sultanate and even captured a Lodhi prince in a battle at Khatoli in 1518.

In the words of a Lodhi era historian ‘Sultan’s armies scattered like dead leaves caught in a gale in front of Rajput cavalry charge’.
In his time, kings of western India looked up to him as their leader. Mewar attained its exalted position due to Rana Sanga’s fierce attitude.

It is a pity that our History text books either make just a passing remark on such characters and acts, or just ignore them completely.
