Done watching 金光御九界之东皇战影... Hmmm.... It wasn& #39;t bad. I think it started out really well, but the last few episodes seemed to me like they& #39;re more on the weaker side. The last episode was fun thoguh.
I don& #39;t know. My main gripe is really just Haijing and I myself
realize most of this comes from me understanding even less than usual about the absolute mess going on in that place. I also thought Jianjian finding out who attacked Raizou to be kinda weak. But overall, I suppose I have a positive opinion of this season...
I like everyone from Haijing. Beiming Yi, Mu Bajiao and Yan Hanqing are my favorites from there. Bajiao especially. I like how passionate she is and how her realizing her flaws doesn& #39;t make her lose motivation, but instead gain even more. Really enjoy her character.
Yi& #39;er is a character that falls pretty damn well into what I usually like in male characters. Though well, I can see his downfall miles away. Especially because of Goose King. Getting your plans destroyed by Qiaoqiao is a lot nicer in comparison to him. Speaking of Qiaoqiao,
I realized how weird it is to see him fight in this season. Since a long while, he has really only fought specific people, so seeing him waltz right through a crowd of cannon fodder is pretty weird... Besides that, usually Qiaoqiao feelings, i guess. Still conflicted.
Oh, him baking with Hanqing was really damn cute though. These two are a good combi, but I doubt he& #39;ll become the partner in crime I want Qiaoqiao to have.

Beiming Jin& #39;s character development was also nice. I think he& #39;s the most suited of the princes to become the new King, but
I think Haijing needs to first fix a lot of shit, before they can talk about that. This place is in need of a democracy more than any other of the realms shown so far.

I suppose I enjoyed the plot in Japan more. Makoto is an angel, well for now, the last episode clearly showed
he& #39;ll turn bad. But no wonder with all of the misery he& #39;s going through. He is certainly mature for his age and clearly incredibly sensitive, but in a way, that sensitivity is the problem. Sigh... I still look forward to seeing this develop.
Jianjian& #39;s character development has been great, like always. I find his "Old mans" plot a lot more interesting though. From the moment these two met, I had a bad feeling. Like, it was nice seeing them interact and they did feel like father and son, but I also got the feeling
his dad was slightly gaslighting him in a way, but I assumed it was unintentional, because he was just so focused on the past and hence clinged to Eastern Kendo so much.
Well, I suppose my guess was correct, just not in the way I expected at first. But once the scene where his robot started talking to him, I figured. I can definitely understand his motivations and why he is thinking the way he does.
He lost everything and since he saw himself as insignificant, of course he& #39;d take on Kazama Kyugo (Kugo? Idk)& #39;s identity. I hope this plot can be resolved somehow.
Tachibana Raizou... On one hand I really like him, he& #39;s fun on screen and his fights are even more fun, but... I don& #39;t know. Something about him just makes me not really like him in any other way. I thought it might have been his backstory, but in the last episode
I think it has been presented well enough and I& #39;m sure that& #39;s not it. Chikiko is similar, something about her bugs me that I can& #39;t really explain, but instead of liking her in a way, I& #39;m neutral towards her. Saki is in this neutral zone too. On paper, she& #39;s a character
made for me to like, but at least with her I know it& #39;s the way her motivations have been presented that I dislike. It felt too weak and just thrown in to induce a genuine feeling of sympathy, which I think you& #39;re supposed to feel towards her, just a little bit.
And I think with characters like her, you need to do this well or it doesn& #39;t work. Theres nothing else really enticing about her character either. Love her design though.
That scene at the end of episode 33 was pretty cool. They& #39;ve been doing a lot of these shots that are a bit more "high quality" through this season, mostly for destruction, but this stood out. Jianjian fighting his dad looked really cool as well.
Oh, but it was kinda weird how they suddenly stopped saying the japanese characters names in japanese in the last few episodes. Really don& #39;t get why.

And damn, if that first opening isn& #39;t the biggest lie ever. I mean, I already knew that before watching since I watched some
scenes of this arc, before I watched Jinguang properly, but man... I miss the stupid cow.... Ah, but there is that one character... But... hm...

At last, Mitama Emiya. Well, I knew from the beginning who he was, something I spoiled myself on ages ago as well, but I am curious
how fast I would have figured it out if I didn& #39;t. I don& #39;t think it& #39;s that hard, especially at the point where Saburo says that he has a grudge against Western Sword... But yeah, he& #39;s fun like always. Really missed him.
Ah, one more thing. This is a pet peeve, but Akabane& #39;s new puppet is really pretty... too pretty. I liked it more when he looked like a middle-aged man, but now he looks like he& #39;s in his 30... How old is he anyways? In my head he& #39;s around 45, but I actually don& #39;t know for sure.
Rereading this thread since I& #39;m almost done with the next season, I realize how horribly I messed up the names. Guess that& #39;s what happens when you don& #39;t look them up and hope you can somehow guess how to write them in pinyin, even though this show is in hokkien?
