Starting a thread of my favorite(s) songs for the day. Each day...until I get tired or forget.

You probably won't like everything and that's okay. But I hope you find at least something you like.
5.14 - Daam by The Alkaholics (1994).

Always known this sample for Sleeping in my Bed (So So Def Remix) by Dru Hill but I love this take too. The Alkaholics (thanks to E-Swift and Madlib) had some of the coolest beats in the 90s.
5.14 late addition: God Loves You by @rocmarci

One of the coolest choruses I've heard in a while. A hustlers hymn I'll say.

"Hang me on the cross in all my gold // Let my soul leave holy // Let these raf seats hold me"
5.16 -- Its So Hard [Big Pun] Iman Omari Flip.

Found this years ago on SoundCloud while making a mix. It's always been a favorite ever since. The beat tape this was on (without vocals) is here: https://tidal.com/album/51057348
5.17 (I'm late. Sue me.)

I went biking through Brooklyn. A very vital part of that journey.
5.18.

The 2015 Iman Omari beattape has been on repeat. Been sweet chilling to it like I did in college. Brings back great memories.
5.20

What Kind of Music by @TomMisch ans @YussefDayes

A beautiful song. And Yussef murders the drums in this simplistic but complicated way. Its stuff like this that makes me love music.
5.21

Was on a nostolgia trip. This quarentine has allowed me to tap into things I enjoy on a childlike level. So shout out to Summer 2011. Feels a bit like that right now.
5.23 (another late addition.)

Grieving x @Kehlani x @jamesblake

My favorite song on the project. Love the production and was cool to hear Kehlani on this type of record. Also a fan of chorus like these.
5.26

Say it Again x @LittleBrotherNC

Classic beat. Classic album.

Best line: "I love Hip-Hop, I just hate the niggas in it." Always felt that like 1000%
5.29

4:21am. Keeping calm. Been playing this one all week.

Set it off x Iman Omari
6.4 in an effort to take my mind off things...

Remembered my favorite @intanetz song "Curse." Always wished it was it's own song. Favorite thing abt this is SYD's vocals (esp the high note) and Patrick's simple bass playing.

Song @ 2:46
6.7 -- Suspect by Nas

Revisted "It Was Written" the other day. WAY better than history remembers it.

Suspect is def a low-key gem on the album I never paid attention to growing up. (just had like 4 other favorites.)

Flow is crazy on this track too.
6.11

County Line x Cass McCombs

Watching the rain from my window and I began singing this song. I did that a lot when I first heard this in High School.

Something's don't change.
6.14 One Eye Open x @blackmarblenyc

My favorite song of the last 6 months. Drunk late night biking trips in BK. Running around London streets. And all the emotional stuff in between.
Haven't posted on this thread in forever.

But listen to this Dinner Party EP asap. @terracemartin @9thwonder @robertglasper @KamasiW really did their thing on this. https://tidal.com/album/145257606
7.16

Never the Same x STRFKR

This has become one of my favorite outside songs. With clubs and parties not being a thing right now, 60s inspired indie songs have really crept back up as my favorite type of music to listen to.
7.16

Church Bells x Orion

Caught this track one if the latest @thrashermag videos. Outside of immediately wanting to hop on my board and go to anywhere, I was reminded of my very passionate 16 year old energy. Very nostologic but current.
7.21 -- JAR x @GreenDay

One of the most impactful songs of my youth. The ending meant a lot to me growing up and the general fear of aging. Means a lot more to me now given subject matter and now a whole decade older from when I first heard it.
7.28 - Into the Mystic x Van Morrison.

I'm never up this early and seeing the sun and stuff has me playing this on a loop.
7.31 -- Waiting Room x Fugazi

End of the work week and this is kind of what life feels like today.
8.25

Haven't added to this thread in a month. Really revisted the Yes Lawd album by @AndersonPaak + @knxwledge and forgot how much I loved this song.

Really makes me miss Friday nights
