I& #39;m simply trying to explain another Korean perspective on the matter.
to those of you doubting my korean abilities I am fully korean and fluent (possible proof: the qtah lyric translations on your timeline a few weeks back were most probably my work)

as a korean, after analyzing the video quite a few times it seems like this whole thing started when jaemin mispronounced either of these two words: "전능하다" "jeonneunghada" (all-knowing) or "저명하다" "jeomyeonghada" (well-known).
1st possibility: he got toungetwisted while saying this which led to him slurring his words. this sounded like "저능하다" "jeoneunghada" (of lesser intelligence). as you can see, jeonneung (all-knowing) and jeoneung (of lesser intelligence) have a difference of one n, which means
mispronunciation is definitely possible and occurs easily. the 2nd possibility is that jaemin misspoke "저명하다" "jeomyeonghada" as "jeoneunghada". I mean, we all have those moments when we mean one word but say something else, right? that& #39;s what happened. directly afterwards,
the dreamies (minus haechan) began laughing and repeating the mispronunciation. this in no way seems to be meant as derogatory - they were laughing + repeating because jaemin mispronounced something, just as they would have if he mispronounced "cat" as "cot", for example.
do I wish they would& #39;ve stopped to think about what this mispronunciation sounded like? yes, because I do think that laughing at this particular mispronunciation would be sensitive. however, what I want to clarify is that they were laughing at jaemin "mispronouncing" a word, not
at jaemin mispronouncing "a word" - the connotations to these two actions are vastly different. from what I& #39;ve gathered on most korean communities so far, most korean nctzens agree with me on what I& #39;ve said above. to summarize, most korean nctzens + I believe jaemin simply
mispronounced something and his mispronunciation sounded close to the r word - a simple mistake. the dreamies were laughing at the fact that jaemin mispronounced something, not at how he mispronounced it. would this have been avoided with a bit more caution? maybe, but the
intentions + what they were laughing at can& #39;t reasonably be considered/proved as derogatory. one other thing I& #39;d like to mention is how much impact one big account can have? no offense to kkum in any way but I do kinda wish she would& #39;ve mentioned that this situation has different
interpretations, and that through the context it is clear that none of the dreamies were being derogatory. it& #39;s easy to make a controversy if you have a lot of followers but that much harder for those who have to explain/clarify. I understand this was a sensitive topic for this
specific account but because of one thread that voiced an opinion on a sensitive situation without context + with many possible interpretations, jaemin, haechan and the other dreamies have been dragged for quite a few hours now. that& #39;s the end of this thread, leave any questions
and I& #39;ll try to answer what I can below. also feel free to share this thread, I just want this whole thing to be somewhat clarified. i hope this has changed some of your perspectives on this matter.
