As someone who knows a little (and I mean just a little - it's a vast subject) bit of church history, it is funny to me seeing people whose doctrinal views have existed for < 100 years calling others "progressive."

A touch of irony going on.
Just some small examples:

Christus Victor - around since the earliest centuries of Christianity.

Apokatastatis - held by the leader of the council of Nicaea (Gregory of Nyssa)

House churches - I mean, have you read Acts?
In other news, I see Reformed Protestants from time to time boasting about their traditions and history, and decrying "biblicism."

Huh?
I guess the point of this thread is: don't criticize doctrinal views with ad hominem/red herrings by labeling it in a way you think is negative.

Actually take time to understand what a doctrine teaches. Then, if it is faulty, critique the faults specifically.
