1) I do not wear a mask, and I won’t wear it unless required to do so to work. Selfish some say, but I disagree. I could provide some common sense reasons why I won’t wear the mask.
2) I can even cite a recent CDC study that says they have no significant effect on the transmission of respiratory viruses. But, I will stick with my bigger reasons.
3) Many Americans, and I am one of them, are starting to see that we’ve been had. Sure, COVID is nasty, but it’s nasty for a small subset of the population.
4) In fact, it’s most dangerous for that subset in lockdown, close quarters conditions like nursing homes. Ironic that we then locked down the young and strong, stripped them of their livelihood, all while forcing the infected back into nursing homes.
5) When THE people respond with disdain, we see tyrant governors wield power like an ax, chopping away at the very foundation of these people’s lives as they extend lockdown after lockdown. Oregon - until July 6? They have come out of this pretty unscathed.
6) Their draconian policies may only be surpassed by those of LA County at 3 months. So what exactly is happening here in the interest of “safety” and “saving lives?” We have a virus that is probably going to shake out at 99.5 to 99.9% survivable, and we have ruined our people.
7) We THE people, step back and accept these “experts” at face value. Don’t wear a mask, wear a mask. That was a major expert discussion you may remember. Recently, we actually heard discussion about whether or not we can let our kids return to school in the fall. Really?
8) It’s of almost no threat to children. Zero. Meanwhile, across the pond, many of our continental European neighbors are opening in mass, and It’s almost as if their elected officials care about what’s best for them.
9) So why is that not happening here and how does that matter when it comes to masks? Well, it’s pretty simple to me. We drag this thing out, we shatter the economy, and people are in need of the government. They need its controlling hand.
10) And they will get it and take it, no matter what it strips from them. So the mask to me is acceptance that a) the government/media knows what’s best for me b) admission that I haven’t done my own research and am a subject of whatever someone tells me to do.
11) The mask shows everyone that there is something scary out there, really scary, and deadly to all. As long as they have that mask on, they feel safe and responsible, even though I would argue it isn’t doing much more than making it harder for them to breathe.
12) But, it gives them something to believe in. Sad, but true. It was a brilliant marketing campaign. Everyone knew most Americans wouldn’t wear a mask to protect themselves. They would “take their chances.”
13) But when framed as protecting others, it was easy to get folks to jump on board. It’s a simple sacrifice, all made in the name of politicized pseudoscience. History is full of times that science was politicized. You need look no further than eugenics.
14) I say think for yourselves and do your own research. Don’t think that a mask shoved in your pocket that you’ve rubbed dirty gloves on is doing anymore than fomenting division and prolonging our economic collapse.
15) Unless you want to find yourself in a mask everytime the political wind blows during flu season, you’d better wake up quickly. Never forget that we won our Revolution during a pandemic of epic proportions!
