I was watching the behind the scenes of The Mandalorian with the directors and they were talking about their first Star Wars experiences. Given their age, a few saw the originals in theaters and were blown away.

Im so lucky to be the age I was because I also had that experience
Back when Episode 1 was coming out, the local theater brought back the original trilogy to the big screen to ramp up for it. They did like 1 every two months leading up to the release.
I was generally aware of Star Wars, of course. I had seen the movies in bits and pieces. I had played Shadows of the Empire, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, Dark Forces, etc.

But I hadn’t really *watched* the movies with my full attention.
I was 9 or 10 when I got to go to the theater, eat popcorn (before it was ludicrously expensive), hear the famous THX sound bootup sequence, and really experience the original Star Wars films as they were meant to be seen.

The perfect age to truly experience them the first time
anyway, i love Star Wars
also, when we went to see Return of the Jedi, they gave out dope Luke figures with the same early 80s style packaging and im so mad at myself for losing it at some point
