I'm gonna do this retroactively, because I absolutely need something to keep my brain busy today and I cannot for the life of me focus on real work.
1) Unlimited SaGa - "Seven Travelers"
I never played more than an hour or two of Unlimited SaGa, but god, Masashi Hamauzu's score for it is unreal. I've listened to this piece more times than I can count.
2) Jurassic Park (GB) - Level 1
I think the GB sound chip turned me into a lover of game music (and of chiptune particularly). This track, by Jon Dunn, basically steals its whole B-section from a C64 game called "Comic Bakery," but I heard it here first.
3) Battleship - Gameplay Music
The GB Battleship was hilariously unfair -- you had even odds of winning your first match, and then approximately zero chance of winning your second -- but this battle theme made spending time with it worthwhile.
4) Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising - Jess's Theme
I love Jess with my whole heart. I love her hair. I love her suit. I love her tanks. I love the look of panic in my opponent's eyes when they realize that her CO Power gives her units +1 movement.
5) Terranigma - Further Into the Wide World
I love this overworld theme so much. To my great embarrassment, I still haven't finished Terranigma. What a great premise, though.
6) Bastion - In Case of Trouble
We've had a lot of trouble lately. Sure could use a place to be where we don't have to worry about it for a while.
7) Thomas Was Alone - A Time for Change
Criminy, what does "indie" even mean? Anyway the soundtrack to jumping, feeling rectangles game Thomas Was Alone is lovely and I like it a lot.
8) Deus Ex - The Synapse
Deus Ex is great. I just replayed it last year and I want to replay it again already.
