Going my walks, runs and cycles during lockdown one thing has pissed me off. Its the amount of football pitches that have just been left to waste and no teams utilising them (could be wrong) within Renfrewshire and the surrounding areas.... (1)
Even before lockdown these pitches have over grown grass, goalposts rotten and no actuall dimensions of a pitch there anymore.
Surely if the council canny be arsed they could give them to local teams, allow them to get a few portacabins make them thrive

What is worse is there are tonnes I will miss out. So reply by adding the names of other football pitches and add to my resentment

1. Jennyswell
St Mirren FCBC and St.Mirren Youth used to play and train.
Looks horrendous now surely some team would benefit from utilising that pitch regularly
(Could be wrong)

2. Dykebar hospital
Used to have a lovely wee pitch up there. Walked passed and hell hole now. Understand this will be privately owned land but surely a team could benefit

2. Hawkhead Pitches
Maybe not the most suitable for 11s games but certainly youth teams could benefit if it was actually well kept. Eye sore every time you cycle past it

4. Donaldswood Park
Sticking my neck out with that name could be wrong. How can that not be kept maintained to a quality standard so that a team can utilise that effectively in the glenburn area.

8. Moredun Pitches
Dont get me started on this one. Used to be 3 pitches there at least Glenbrae used to have the run of the mill of it if am correct. ONE set a goals now?
You go to Cowan park it's like a bowling green and we have one pitch left on a perfectly good area.

9. Silverburn Pitch
Going with that the now. One the lads will pop with the name. Beside Pollock Baptist church heading to paisley. Used to train there with Hillwood wasnt the best but now its left like a jungle.
Teams trained there many a time through the spring/summer

When you cycle past it absolute sore on the eye. Easily give a team that to keep it maintained and your sorted

11. Morar Drive pitch
I mind playing here when I was younger maybe against langcraigs. Ball rolling down the hill what a memory. There is a portacabin down at the wee building so hoping I could be wrong here.
If not give it to a team and get it going again
