The Council took the decision in March to close some of its car parks and public toilets to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
We are aware of the Government guidance which now allows people to travel to exercise. However, there remains the danger that people congregating in one area will encourage the virus to spread and pose a greater risk to our residents and visitors.
Therefore, we have taken the decision that the car parks and public toilets at the coast and our beauty spots will remain closed to lessen this risk.
We will review this situation regularly and hope both residents and visitors will be able to enjoy our beautiful coastline and countryside safely as soon as possible.

The following car parks will remain closed:
Majuba Road in Redcar;
The Coast Road car park between Redcar & Marske;
The Pier & Cat Nab car parks in Saltburn;
Guisborough Forest and Walkway;
Flatts Lane Country Park;
Errington Woods;
Foxrush Farm;
The council-owned car parks in Newton Under Roseberry & Cowbar.
The Saltburn Cliff Lift will also remain closed.
