1. Way forward MDC Alliance
@gmstanie28 @docfarai @munyarmakoni The political and legal issues surrounding the lawfare against MDC Alliance has already been explained by @Wamagaisa. Brother @cdemlambo suggested @nelsonchamisa forms a new party and cuts ties with the MDC name..
2.... which has become soiled by the infighting, treachery etc etc. I am for that move. I'm h/e under no illusion of the negative consequences such as losing the 7.5million bond due to MDC Alliance, and possibility of not retaining some seats in the by-elections.....
3... It will also be difficult to then sell this New party to people ekhaya who will be told that "Chamisa akapanduka akasiya party yaTsvangirai" the regime propaganda machinery and their new bedmates in MaKhupe, Komichi, Mwonzora etc will use this to devastating effect...
4... This means in order to be ready for 2023, the New Party will need to invest heavily in Rebranding, brand management basically. It will also need massive campaigning in the rural and remote areas to sell the new brand and clarify the confusion arising from this.....
5. So having clarified that I'm under no illusion to the negative consequences of cutting ties with the MDC name, here is my suggested way forward.....
6. There is need for a clear ideological focus for the new party, and in my opinion that position should be center left and not neo-liberalism which has clearly failed. This ideaology shld be reinforced at all levels of the party such that those with conflicting ideaologies.....
7...are left out from the start and the party moves forward as a singular unit with a shared ideaology and vision. ...
9. Finance
@nelsonchamisa had over 2 million votes. If all those voters plus the diaspora contribute one USD a month, we wld be looking at USD2million+ monthly. If the New Party's treasury invests this money in stocks, crypto currency we would be looking at a healthy profit that
10. ...is enough to purchase a Party HQ, pay party officers and expenses needed in the Rebranding exercises. The Treasury can also purchase farms, then employ party faithfuls and pay them decent wages, and from the profits the party can afford to give aid to the needy...
11....such that trinkets from ZANU which come during elections wouldn't confuse voters. Also the party can then own huge stakes in corporates and hence use it's influence to provide jobs to party faithfuls...the profits wld also be used to provide scholarships to party youths....
12....hence energising the youth and sending them out there to learn critical skills which will be important for rebuilding the nation once the Party takes power. Of course Competent Auditors will need to be employed to make sure that no one is unjustly enriched from these funds.
13. In conclusion, this is just a synopsis, but if expanded and improved I'm sure this is one way we can be able to build a strong and robust opposition wc can turn this teapot shaped nation we all call home into an egalitarian democratic developmental state. @HamaChinhoi.
