It fascinates me how our 21st century understanding of racism is marked by a rediscovery of the failure of democracy in the U.S. due to Blackness or the slave. The colonial analyses of Blk radicals in the 50s-70s were ridiculed 4 their pessimism after integration.
Yet, at the dawn of the 21st century, these ideas are reframed w/in a lexicon of the psychoanalytic & grammatical so that the institutional mobility of speakers with these messages can thrive.
It is ironic that E. Franklin Frazier's insight into the Negro intellectual's divestment in semi/colonial analysis is so accurate over 50 years later.
