Jeff Bezos is trending because the conditions we're under during the Covid-19 shutdown have greatly benefited Amazon. Bezos, as a result, it set to become the world's first trillionaire. I'm seeing a lot of butt-hurt, whining, petulant, spoiled socialists screaming out. Well, 1/
here's the thing: Bezos was smart early. He understood a need and he created a business model that appealed to the people. He grew that business and it continued to prosper because he made the right decisions with it. It prospers today because people have responded positively 2/
to that model. He provides a service that is in demand, especially now. He could not enjoy the success he now enjoys without the cooperation of the people. Are they doing it because they really like him? No. They're doing it because it meets their needs. It's give and take. 3/
Bezos is not some robber baron, taking from the poor. He's just a very successful [smart] businessman. I guarantee the bulk of those whining because he's got wealth they WISH they could amass have used his service, at some point, which makes them hypocrites. They're saying we 4/
should use the mom-and-pop local shops now, just to get back at Bezos and slow his success. Great. That's an option, but most of those shops are closed now because of the virus. What do you suggest we do? Go to those shops and lick the windows? Go right ahead, then report 5/
back how that met your needs. Their next argument is that he's getting wealthy while his workers are nowhere near that mark. This is true, but then, most business/job creators make a lot more than their staff. What initial capital did those workers put into creating the 6/
business? Did they take on the cost of any business loans to get it up and running? Did they advertise or draw in the initial customers/vendors/service reps? Also, when they took the job, were they forced in at gunpoint, chained to the facility, and put into slavery, or did 7/
they take a job when they needed one - a job Amazon provided for them, in order that they have some means of drawing income for their household? Did they fill out the employment application themselves? Sign an employment agreement, knowing what their salary would be? That's 8/
normally how getting a job goes. If most of these cry baby socialists would go out and get a job themselves, rather than trying to formulate ways to get other people to pay for their lifestyle, they'd understand. I dont hate on Jeff Bezos. I say, good for him! /end of rant/
