Please be aware when taking your car to service:

On Saturday I took my car to VW for a service and I noticed a very weird trend. My car has a service plan, so it covered what I needed, but I was immediately offered new cash offers on site, that weren’t necessary
Anyway, I declined the first offer which was to drain my engine and fill it up again. But,

An hour after I got home, the technician called me to tell me my brake pads are wearing off and might need a change, I asked how much it costs, and the quote was R3900
But I thought to myself, this is weird because brake pads normally wear off around 75000km’s

So I declined.

While collecting my car, waiting for my technician, I heard two other technicians telling customers about the same issue, Brake Pads.
I figured, since dealerships aren’t making money off car sales, they are finding new ways to make money off customers, by charging you for parts not covered under a service plan. Unless you have a mechanical warranty.

😭😭😭
These guys are literally telling you about fixing parts that don’t need any change, just so they can money for their dealership.

And those people paid the R3900’s for their brake pads, which were probably not changed.
The problem with brake pads, is that if they wear out in the next 3 months, they will tell you that you brake too hard and make you change them again. At your cost 😭💔
I never change my brake pads at the dealership. They aren’t covered by service plans and don’t affect the price of the vehicle.

Drive to any autozone and there are mechanics outside ready to change them for a fraction of the price your dealership will quote you.
My free advice, use it, don’t use it.

But next time you take your car to service, they’ll probably find a way to get some cash of you. Cash you need for survival during this time.
