I have not seen a single “Left Wing” economist who opposes the #jobguarantee, speak about the injustice of a system that coherces people into unemployment.
Some will support infrastructure spending as a means to create jobs. But won’t commit to a guarantee of employment. And when told we need jobs for “everyone” they claim that’s putting the cart before the horse.

Who is job creation meant to benefit?
We need to start with the premise that everyone should have a right to economic participation and a decent wage.

Not with the premise that we’ll create as many jobs as we can centrally plan for and declare other workers surplus to requirements. Condemned to exclusion & poverty.
If central Govt can’t think of more jobs the task should b passed on to local Govts who understand community needs.

Whatever burden of work we have we spread as equitatively as possible, as we should do with wages.

No one is surplus. We need an inclusive economy.
