Secularism is separation of action/ ideas from religion. A practicing Hindu, Muslim, etc. can never be secular. Hence, a secular Hindu/ Muslim is an oxymoron. One does not need to "cling" to secular ideas. If you need to "cling" to secular idea, it means your moral compass is flexible and malleable. Hence, the question arises if you are really "secular" or have been compelled by your environment to act like a "secular".

And ironically you have addressed the root of the Hindu-Muslim conflict in India. "We are not the same". However, co-existence is possible as long as mutual respect and dignity is maintained, and there is no infringement/ invasion of rights and space by one on another.

Now who decides what is the rights of each group? Well had there been no Partition, there would have been an equal representation in deciding the same. However, once Partition was implemented, Muslims in India don't get the right to eat their cake and have it as well. End thread.
