Thinking about it now I’m realizing how much obscure fantasy and/or dystopian novels, books, and comics I was exposed to, and several of those my elementary teachers read to our class, and how that’s probably where a lot of the interest comes from. Huh.
To be fair, if I were to read some of them now they’re probably not as good or entrancing, but as a kid i remember my classmates and I being so mind blown. I can remember the titles, barely any of the contents, just bits & pieces.
For example, there was a book called Poppy, right. A mouse kills this landlord owl because the owl ate her boyfriend and said her family couldn’t move. Remember to kill your tyrannical landlords, children.
