Okay. Here's my #CentauriStory about how I ended up back up dancing for Major Playaz in 2005 in one of their music videos... If you're Zimbabwean and old enough you'll know what I'm talking about.

Back in high school days being able to dance was social currency. My friends and I were part of Beat Street. The seniors would pull us out for basketball half time shows. We used to dance at school pageants all of that. It was cool to be that "ndityoke here!!?" guy at the party!
Anyway our Beat Street crew got called out for a battle by Celebration Centre's 5-O crew. The older members were like "nah" so we had to go defend. But it wasnt just a battle. It was going to be held at the Unseen Movement concert. You Got Served Rules!
(If she dont know You Got Served she's too young for you bro
) Now the Unseen Movement was a stage built in the Sam Levies Village Nandos parking lot. It was a full on Celebration Centre christian rock concert and our battle was part of the show! At 15? Big big deal to us

The 5 of us going prepped our dance routines. We had backflips. We ripped off thriller for a crowd pop. We had a human bicycle. We had 6 original routines! We pulled out everything we had and we threw it at them like it was war

After the dust settled. They did that "let the crowd decide" nonsense.... Mxm. The Celebration Centre home crowd cheered for us but the judges gave it to 5-O. So we walked off... Defeated. But so freaking proud of ourselves. Those guys are my best friends for life to this day!
We're mingling in the crowd getting our pats on the back and one of the guys from Major Playaz walks up to us. Told us we shouldve won. Asked us if we wanted to be in a music video. Uhhh hell yeah!! We exchanged numbers and set it up. Went home feeling like winners
Shoot day comes around. Not all of us could go but I'd be damned if i missed it. They pick us up in a small bus. We drove to pick up the video vixens. One of whom was Makanaka Wakatama who was POPPIN on Star Kidz at the time like
. We drove out to Imba Shiri near Norton

They played us the music when we arrived. We had about an hour to create a routine while they set up a platform on Lake Chivero because one of the opening shots was them walking off a boat and getting mobbed by us "fans" (yes they had a boat in 2015 AND a plane bruh)
We did our thing. They didnt use half of the footage from the routine I choreographed. The director had me do like 20 running backflips for one shot I'll never see
they offered us tshirts and contracts in lieu of payment which my parents refused. Nobody got Makanakas number

And thats the #CentauriStory of how I became a backup dancer for Major Playaz for this one video. I never did any after that it was back to school and reading books.

And yes thats me at 0.27 doing a one legged backflip.
