Gee is very classic Christian sunday school teacher who wears a ton of tie-dye and has lots of friendship bracelets and (cont)

wears cross necklaces that look like they were bought in Hawaii. Gerard is very classic catholic priest struggling with internalized homophobia.

As the story progresses we find out why they are both there. Gee willingly enrolled to try and repress his homosexual (cont)

urges, while Gerard was told by the Catholic church that if he DIDN'T do conversion therapy he would have his priesthood taken away. They of course end up falling in love and there is a LOT of internal and external struggle that it hurts too much to put in this thread, but (cont)

they come to the realization that what was being done to them was worse than any sin they could be committing by being gay, and both disenroll. They get together and spend their days finding common ground between their faith and their sexuality, maybe starting a church together
