Real talk. *IMO* Don & Rudy are telling the truth and their beef is over. This isn’t about that.

Going forward, we know exactly what we’ve got with Rudy. However, we *don’t* know how fast Don will improve. Thus, maxing Rudy is dangerous. B/c it’s betting don peaks sooner.

If we max Rudy, that’s pushing our chips in on a four-year window with him (it is likely Rudy declines in five years from now, in the last year of a max contract). Whereas Donovan’s eventual peak might be more important to maximize, as he could be a legit MVP candidate.

So with all that considered, here’s the question, and the reason I wrote this thread:

What would the old school Spurs do in our situation? And are there more options for the Jazz than just ā€œmax or tradeā€?
