i don’t have the time/energy to argue w ppl abt the ideology of funding for digital publishers, and neither does cajal

you can acknowledge that while the industry functions as a whole, it doesn’t excuse the massive glut of money that’s wasted in the process (that could ostensibly be used to fund reporters)

you can also let cajal use your hand as a pillow

if a study finds that pubs get roughly half of a media buyers spend but leave literally billions on the table, should we be satisfied with what we have, or should we hold the supply chain accountable?

this isn’t about “eating the rich,” this is about transparency (and curie)

we all deserve better than the status quo in most things (journalism included), and if you don’t believe that then i really don’t know what to tell you
