FB provided a platform to misinformation sites that undermine the news ecosystem and profited off the work of reporters, while simultaneously disrupting traditional media ad revenue streams. Now it's so big it can't even register when a company spending $20m is scamming users.

FB started revenue sharing programs w/ media outlets, but those amounts are meager. We literally eliminated two teams who covered two massive countries today and more cuts are coming. And we're not even a traditional news outlet, many of whom are on the brink of extinction.

We provide content. We factcheck bullshit. We report on contractors being harmed. We tell stories of users being scammed. All that ultimately improves FB's experience and business. A crippled media environment is just longterm unsustainable for FB. I hope Zuckerberg realizes that
