The irony of life being pain is...

The only reason you can not feel every nuance of your nervous system and every breeze of the air being EXCRUTIATING pain is because you are floating in a pool of endogenous painkillers.

And if the painkiller production drops tooooo low, you can only feel the reality of your nervous system without painkillers.

Excruciating reality covered up by a pool of painkillers.

Imagine if you could feel cells being built or your myelin that coats your whole nervous system being dissolved by waste acids.

The pain is unimaginable. After my brain and nervous system had become destroyed/degenerated, every sensory input made my entire nervous system feel like it was on fire. I often felt my entire body being electrocuted from the sheer level of excitation, especially around seizures.

This is why high intelligent (glutamate) individuals are most prone to substance use. Their reality is quite literally pain unless actively managed.
