I mean, RE food at least @bryanadams has been a vegan for 30 years. Vast majority of vegans return to meat real quick. Most hate mail we natives get from vegans is bogus bc they’re just temporarily #hangry to the BONE.

Now... RE Bryan’s deep-seated racism?

#🖕🏽
I’m always in support of city-folk living vegetarian or vegan lifestyles for as long as they can. Even when most of them give up on it quick, at least it’s an education on how brutal capitalist food production is.
BECAUSE THIS: Native folk have managed to retain the cultural stronghold of respect for ALL life. Through genocide, colonialism, capitalism, the ongoing active attempts to erase us?

We still live. And we still *love* all life.

Imperfectly, yes. But there it is.
Loving all of life and all of creation does not necessarily translate to veganism for all people. What if you believe the plants and the whole earth have souls equal to humans? Do you just stop eating anything and die?
I have spent more time than most meat eaters do online, trying to understand vegans and what our common ground is. Genuinely. For yearrrrs.

We share a recognition that something isn’t right in our food systems. We share a desire to do right, and to cause less harm.
The difference between @bryanadams and a poor native family that hunts wild/organic/local when they can, but eats hot dogs the rest of the time?

White supremacy & privilege, unchecked for so long that it’s festered into a moral and intellectual laziness.
If you can afford to be vegan for 30 years, if you can afford the food AND the knowledge of how to do so safely? You are 99.99999% likely to be rich AF. You’re also likely to not live in the Arctic like me.
Bryan has lived largely in the most colonial city of the most colonial country in the most colonial culture currently in existence in the world, for many years (London, UK).

His Canadian ties are mostly to the warmest part of our country (BC). Basically he has no clue.
@bryanadams’ activism is white supremacist AF. Come talk to some natives about food, and respect for animals and the earth.
P.S. I totally made out with my first boyfriend to @bryanadams songs in the 90’s. A LOT.

This is the first time you’ve been relevant to me in 30 years. About as long as you’ve been a vegan!

Coincidence? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
The moral of the story is:

Make love, not racist-vegan propaganda.
