apparently it can be the equivalent to calling someoen dumb but the real meaning is like kind of like “ur brain is not that smart” or like “ u have a low iq” a lot of people can call themselves+

like 저능 as a joke like calling someone 바보 however describing someone as 저능 is+ very degrading and not okay. it’s not up there with the r slur like not as serious but according to my mom a lot of young people+

use this because THEY HAVENT BEEN PROPERLY EDUCATED ON THE APPROPRIATENESS OF 저능.

so this is not justifieable and very hurtful that they used it HOWEVER this is not uncommon especially for young people

i am not neurodivergent so i cannot know how other neurodivergent people may feel about this. I am not defending them I am trying to explain the translation behind the slur used. My heart goes out to all that were hurt by this.
