Will tell you! I do however lie awake at 3 in the morning worrying about how this is all going to pan out for my business and everyone involved in it. The macro economics of the country has me even more worried though - I just don’t see how this ends positively...
Am I worried about myself and my family? Absolutely . But that isn’t to suggest that I’m not deeply worried about every other South African. In fact - quite the opposite. They make up the macro economy I worry about. This isn’t about money vs lives.
This isn’t about being going to the pub at the expense of lives. This is about making sure we manage the risks as best we can while still going out into the fields to produce food to eat.
If you’re able to shut yourself out of the face to face economy indefinitely through savings, having a job that you can work from home, or a government job that doesn’t need you to be productive - that is real privilege in the current context...
