a little rant abt my job bc im angry and want more opinions to see if my anger is validated: a thread

btw i work at a grocery store & im a cashier. i wont say which one bc i dont wanna get fired but im angies

so to start off, my store has been cleaning every single night since the pandemic started and we closed at 8pm, which is great! i get off at 9pm at latest and before this we closed at 11pm, so i always just assumed the cleaning was something they regularly did, but i was wrong.

we just got an email saying we dont have to clean as much as we were starting the 16th which sounds fine, but all we were doing was wiping down the registers, handles, etc bc those things are gross and get touched a lot, but to stop cleaning all of that period??? disgusting.

i see so many kids and adults pick their noses, scratch their asses, lick their fingers, meat products leak, rotten produce, etc. everyday, and were just..... gonna stop cleaning???? because the amount of virus cases has gone down????? um..........

it just seems so inconsiderate???? global pandemic or not, things need to get wiped down because its a grocery store, everyone touches everything and its gross. they dont care tho, which is my next point

maybe its because im not a robot, but no one seems to give a SHIT about anyone else which i get is common, but the whole basis of our training is kindness. ur telling me ur gonna scream at a cashier to be kind then treat said cashier like trash??? psychotic behavior luv.

they constantly complain about having too many cashiers and take their anger out on us, but theyre the ones hiring cashiers. they complain about not getting shit done, but theyre the ones who walk around half their shifts telling other people to do what they dont wanna do.

like its such blatant hypocrisy?????? and then they get angry at us???????? ma’am pick a struggle is it anger issues or lack of sympathy pls tell me bc id like to know.

chile dont even get me started on scheduling jesus christ theyre like “:((( the schedule isnt good we either dont have enough cashiers or have too many :(((“ mf then ALTER THE SCHEDULE. its the SMALLEST THING for the biggest payoff. if not then stop crying bc we dont care

and then they complain when some associates go on a 15 minute break and scream at us to come back asap bc its an inconvenience to THEM

they also get mad at us for talking to customers. yall ever have that one cashier thats rly friendly and it just makes ur day a little better?????? yea that makes our day too but we’re not allowed to do it bc they think any interaction is counterproductive

they overwork some of the staff, underwork other staff, then complain about everything they have the power to fix but CHOOSE not to because theyre selfish and just care about getting what they need & leaving. joy and irene once said “psycho” and i just have to agree

anyways end of thread pls let me know if my feelings are justified or if im just upset over nothing
