I will forget about this, don’t let me

Also hard mode might be impossible for me I’m gonna say that in advance
#1 - Title Screen Music: Mega Man 3

So I gotta give this one to Megaman 3 because it’s such a memorable buildup from calm and melancholic to HYPE TIME NOW and I love that.
Also ever since video game consoles developed sleep mode, title screens and title themes just don’t exist to me anymore because what is closing the game

I’m probably missing out, sorry

Honorable mentions: Golden Sun, Megaman Battle Network 2
This challenge was a mistake because I dont listen to music in context and therefore have little memory of what it was actually for
#2 (I am not doing this daily) Intro Stage: Megaman Zero

LISTEN, MEGAMAN JUST HAS GOOD MUSIC

Also the intro stage is literally the only part of mmz I’ve ever played but the theme was such a banger it stayed memorable anyway
No honorable mentions because I literally cannot remember another opening stage theme right now, which is both a testament to how bad my memory is and how powerful zero’s theme is
#3 - 8 bit: Tower of Heaven - Indignant Divinity

SINCE I ALREADY REVOKED MY MM3 PRIVILEGES

Tower of Heaven is retraux and not actually from the 8-bit era, but I think it’s still valid
Honorable Mentions: MM3 whistle concert, MM3 password theme, Link’s Awakening: Tal Tal Heights
#4 From a Console-Exclusive series: Golden Sun, Elemental Stars

does this mean like from a nintendo series or a sony series?

I miss Golden Sun :c
#5 Overworld Theme: Cadence of Hyrule

I love that little bit of Tal Tal Heights in there, hhhhh

Put the shopkeeper version bc of the harmonies but the basic combat version is 👌 too
Honorable mentions: Golden Sun 2 Phase 2, Tales of Phantasia Phase 2

Sakuraba does a lot of good phase 2 overworld themes
#6 Music that Makes Me Feel Relaxed: Tales of Graces - Sophie

I always gotta turn to those simple themes when it comes to relaxing music
Honorable Mentions: the Thomas Was Alone ost, and the only reason this didn’t get picked is because I can’t pick a single song and also. I forgot until after I posted the above

My homework ost!!
#7 From an Indie Game: Transistor - Paper Boats

Supergiant games feels like cheating because they go hard on their music but!!

this song makes me so emotional hh

That little duet for the line “the river always finds the sea” is enough to make me cry I
8. Music From a Shooter: Ace Combat 5 - Rendezvous

Shooter is the one genre I stay away from and I don’t even know if this counts??? I know nothing on the series and I have no idea how I know this song exists but it’s good
Oh it’s because Go Shiina has worked on Ace Combat and that made me curious
9. Music from a Licensed Game: Sam & Max - Unholy Workshop

The soundtrack has good detective drama vibes but its strength is also a problem in that no single song stands out

So have the Santa’s Workshop theme
10. RPG Battle Music:

YOU ASK ME, JRPG GAMER, TO PICK ONE (1) BATTLE THEME

Let’s disqualify sakuraba since he got a few already, that helps

Altelier Ayesha: Yesterday’s Opponents are Today’s Ingredients

That mix between soft fantasy and harsh guitar
Honorable Mentions:

Trails of Cold Steel- A Glint of Cold Steel, Transcend Beat
Atelier - Slag Dance
Mana Khemia - Nefertiti
Sakuraba still disqualified or I’ll be here forever, but I may never mention Infinite Undiscovery in this thread so I have to add Cleaving Blade
9. Puzzle Game Music

KICKS DOWN DOOR DID SOMEONE SAY PUZZLES

Professor Layton is love, Layton is life, I miss you professor

Your kids are cool but it’s not the same

Rest in peace, Akira Tago ;;
Did I cheat, yes, but I love the Layton theme in all forms.
