I haven& #39;t yet decided how to vote, @NTEUNational. Here are some queries on the Heads of Agreement, which I will also share with the branch. Thread:
Clause 32 would seem to undermine clauses 33-34 on protecting "reasonable expectations" on the part of casuals that they might have been employed. The phrase "reasonable expectation" is itself also rubbery--that& #39;s the whole point after all of employing casuals.
Clause 45 on "vital staff" is likewise rubbery. Who decides on a definition of "vital"?
Clause 51: the votes of the overseeing panel will often be determined by the "independent" chair. How will this person be appointed? By whom?
Clause 50(a): is that "higher" cut for execs in absolute or percentage terms?
Clause 50: no requirement to consider (cheap) loans. What are "cash reserves" compared to investments?
But most importantly: as @rebeccapearse asks in her excellent thread, where is the data? How can we evaluate the framework without knowing the terms & numbers underpinning it? With thanks.
