Steve is invited to a veterans day event at a Brooklyn veterans home as Captain Rogers,not Captain America for once, and he couldn't be happier about it! (1/?)

Bucky is there with his family, celebrating with his Grandpa who served, he's a junior in college, studying pre-med. Steve enters the room to give his speech on the stage and Bucky's mouth drops open at the vision of Steve in his army uniform! His eyes glued to Steve (2/?)

They bid each other goodbye and Steve heads home to his apartment. All evening as he's sat watching a movie Bruce recommended to him, he's trying to ignore the urge to text Bucky. It's too soon! He doesn't wanna scare him off! But he can't stop thinking about him (13/?)

The two men fall apart together, foreheads pressed together, panting and sweaty but completely blissed out.
Steve pulls his head back slightly looks Bucky in the eyes and says "I love you"

Through the whole thing. His sister Becca gives him a sly side eye and he kicks her ankle lovingly under the table in return. After the speeches, Steve wanders the room speaking to the vets and their families, thanking them for their service, when he catches sight of (3/?)

The most beautiful man he's ever seen sitting at a corner table. He's for the most gorgeous eyes Steve's ever seen, an adorable cleft chin, silky looking chestnut brown hair Steve wants to run his fingers through, and a smile that lights up the room. When he laughs (4/?)

Steve knows he's a goner! He walks over and sees the man look at him, eyes wide, watches as he looks Steve up and down and swallows noticeably! That gives Steve a confidence boost. He introduces himself to the family and thanks the elderly man for his service (5/?)

His eyes keep returning to the gorgeous brunette the whole time, he can't help it. The family introduces themselves, thanking Steve for being there. Then the man steps forward "hi I'm Bucky" he says with a gorgeous smile and offers his hand to shake, which Steve takes (6/?)

He holds on to it a few seconds longer than he should, and Bucky's eyes crinkle and Steve let's go and says (intelligently) "I'm Steve" then mentally facepalms himself! 'Smooth Roger's, really smooth'
Bucky let's out a little huff of laughter and blushes light pink (7/?)
