Possibly the greatest failure of black masculinity is failing to differentiate sexuality from sexual assault https://twitter.com/subnegro4/status/1260696624176803841
Which is why you believe zaya is harmed by her Consensual exploration and decisions... And Boosie children are helped by their father paying someone to sexually assault them
Too many black men understand sexual assault as their sexual awakening...
When you are incubated by a dysfunctional sexual matrix it stunts key areas of emotional and mental development
Sex becomes an act that proves your worth and validity as a "man"... But not as an expression of care and connection
In effect... You're not having sex to express desire, or love, or fulfilment, or joy... You have sex in pursuit of the affirmation of other men.
So when we talk about healing... We are talking about the real ways that sex and sexuality has been weaponized against black men and how that trauma lives with us and manifest in our failure to produce sustainable relationships
Even the language that we employ around sex is steeped in violence. Not joy
The language describes assault rather than an abundance of care
We have a difficulty admitting that Boosie is wrong because we have a difficulty admitting our own sexual assault and its harmful repercussions
But you 25... And eventually you gotta stop punishing women for what your dad uncle and homeboys did to you.
