ok, it's May 14th from where I live, so allow me to reminisce about that one banner I anxiously waited, but held a summoning experience that went worse than I thought:
Beauty in Motion.

so, if you followed me or have explored the subreddit of Dragalia Lost, you know that I am a huge fan of Zardin, our current most accessible Water/Sword, and that I have achieved a lot of things on him: first promoted to 5*, first 50/50 MC, first to get a 5T3 MUB weapon, etc.

since the first Halloween banner came out, I started worrying for an alt of Zardin, a thing I thought impossible at the time, as I thought it could end up like in FEH where some characters still don't have an alt (see poor Seliph).

in order to avoid disasters, I started honing my skills as an hoarder, because hey, more wyrmite means more summons, right?
Oh, fun fact: I thought his first alt would've been on the Valentine's banner.

fast forward to May, when I still was summoning for Marth and Fjorm (and still failed), and I wake up to two friends (Mimi and Forest) yelling because something happened in Dragalia. I saw a purple-haired man, "did Hríd made into Dragalia? Oh god.", I open the post.

I was literally awake from around 2 minutes, and my eyes could not believe that I WAS STARING AT AN UPCOMING ZARDIN ALT.

You can imagine the shock. Was that real? Did I start freaking out? Yes for both. I also made a drawing when that came out.

the week between the announcement and the banner seems eternal, but it somewhat passes. I pray that I somewhat get Zardin's alt with my F2P stash, right?

I wish that happened, because it went differently.

in around 23 Tenfolds and 23 Singles (perfectly balanced, as al things should be), I got Norwin (second most-wanted), Yachiyo, merges to finish some dragons, a lot of Astral Imps, 3 Lucretias and a fucking Lin You, because pitybreaking me in FEH wasn't enough for her.

yes, apparently, in all these summons, I didn't see a single Rainbow Blade or Gold-turned-to-Rainbow Blade. Worse thing is that someone predicted the rate-up of Lucretia!

It was my first time returning to 3-digit/2-digit wyrmite, and I left it brokenhearted.

now, after a summon of this kind, you thought I quitted Dragalia. I didn't, because there were a lot of characters I liked, and I wouldn't quit for a single one.
Later in June, a Dream Summon Special was datamined, and to my surprise, I notice Takemikazuchi.

Takemikazuchi in that pic only meant a thing: Beauty in Motion characters were available too! I was over the moon when this happened, as it meant I could get Beautician!Zardin!

now, had that DSS never happened, the day I would've gotten B!Zardin would've been on the 1st Anniversary of Dragalia, as he was the first unit to show up on my Gala summons.

a positive note: even if I didn't summon him in his banner, both May and June delivered some excellent official Zardin content, plus during the week before BoM the subreddit finally had some Zardin content (inlucidng a drawing I made, because of course, OF COURSE I HAD TO DO IT)
