I& #39;ve noticed a fun little trend that grinds my gears. If you have a non-white alter in your system you may be called out for "appropriating culture." I& #39;ve noticed that many people are calling #DissociaDID racist for having non-white alters in their system.
Some of whom seem to want to learn about the race and culture they were created from.
Why is that considered racist? I see it as just people wanting to learn about themselves. But to others it& #39;s "Appropriating Culture."

Why is it appropiating culture when you simply want to learn about your background. I& #39;ll give you an example. We have a half-Japanese alter named Kasumi. She& #39;s sassy and full of funk. She loves learning ANYTHING and EVERYTHING about Japanese culture
She feels a connection to it. Pride in it. Is that "appropriating culture"? Learning about a race, ethnic group, or culture that you feel connected to? May not be by ancestry but by just having the urge to immerse yourself in it. Is THAT appropriating a culture?
So it grinds my gears hard when I see people actively harassing others just for having a non-white alter and screaming about "appropriating culture". Please, we weren& #39;t given the damn choice what kind of alters we get.
We don& #39;t get to choose their skin color, ethnic background, or ancestry. Hells, we can& #39;t even control what names they have! So please, be kinder to non-white alters in a white body. They want to connect with people like them just as much as you do
Thank you for reading my rant!
