im working on a piece describing how The Quicksand works (it's complicated!) but tldr, while we're being laid off and furloughed there's enough money to save all of us, and it's just...... kind of vanishing into thin air? and nobody seems to want to do anything about it?
funny that all the suits that bolster the idea of "quality journalism" are also the ones that seemingly can't be bothered to read any of the reporting on why their bolstering is 99% hot air
