the "used to be bi but now I'm just hetero" line in Say So remix got me thinking.

people claim that things like this somehow erase or dismiss bisexuality, but maybe we should accept that it is a genuine experience people have. sexuality can be fluid & how we identify can change
same thing happened with another female pop star who came out as bi then later claimed it was "a phase". Bad choice of language, but it's still a valid experience.

i understand why ppl are skeptical. they worry that they are identifying as bi just to be edgy/relevant/appealing
of course, this argument only comes up when discussing a woman. which is actually bc people KNOW female sexuality is treated as if its an exotic commodity or something that could enhance a brand. (this is where the real problem is btw)
i remember when a male celeb came out as bi then later identified as gay. ppl completely dismissed his experiences and instead said he was just "too ashamed to be fully gay".

as if they are suggesting being a bisexual man is "not as bad" as being a gay man.
basically, all this does is just make it seem like bisexual women are too good to exist, and bisexual men are just pretending they aren't gay to avoid homophobia
i could keep writing this thread forever, but i will stop because it's pointless.
