I used to be big on purity culture yearssssss ago and was an avid follower of a certain Christian couple who gained their platform through pushing purity culture.....and are now being exposed for fraud. That’s wild

They’re in Atlanta and the wife (main one who STILL pushes purity culture and preys on black women’s desire for romantic partnership) has an organization that’s called.....(see gif)

They made their page private after this and I had to follow to see how they’re gonna respond to it. Because there’s truly no way you can ignore such allegations. At all. It would be extremely reckless even from a legal standpoint. They have to do SOMETHING.

They also did a grocery giveaway recently where they had their followers donate money (yuck, read the room) for them to send to others to buy groceries. And they just announced that they finished it. But the numbers of what they sent are SO inconsistent. It’s so strange.

HL said they donated $30k. Her husband said they gave $50k on *video* then said $35.5k on his Instagram. Then their church page said they gave $10k??? Then HL said to someone in the comments that they actually gave $40k in total. Which is it???

This is not the time for them to be accepting such large donations from people when they’re literally being accused of fraud. And they’re using cash app so there’s no real way to hold them accountable on whether they did send every dollar donated. It’s infuriating.

I also think it’s just a little tone deaf and insensitive to take a picture of your fridge full of food and post it while we’re in a *pandemic* and many people’s fridges are empty and they’re starving. Like?
