I find it truly fascinating how ytpmv/ otomads meet all the criterias to become insanely popular but by some weird magic still is a niche unknown to most internet users

for example if we check any video that somehow manged to blow up the commenters are always unanimously impressed. The only ones that sometimes post critiques are other madmakers

Imo that's not a bad thing that the medium is so insanely unknown. You won't become famous making otomads, and even making a profit requires such a huge time investment that anyone who isn't passionate will leave after one or two weeks.
