not having PayPal has just strengthened the culture in Pakistan of consuming artistic labor for free. if distribution was easier, maybe the reimbursement would have been more frequent. not supporting your artists forces them to compete for a spot in elitist publications 1/2
2/2 compromising on their ethics for credentials to convince people to pay. They have to change their style to what hegemonic thought assigns value, affirming the monopoly the rich wield over what art is produced. You can't monetize your art in Pk because there's no platform
and our brilliant govt is instead trying to impose enormous licensing fees (and censorship) on creatives who actually HAVE managed to monetize their content. You can't claim to be creating jobs when you're actually eradicating them by creating faltu ki hurdles
