Camp Kesem is a nationwide network of camps staffed by volunteer college students. The camps are free to kids whose parents/immediate family members have been afflicted by cancer. It offers a week to get away and be a kid: arts & crafts, field sports, ropes...great outdoors.

I was a counselor and campus president when I was in school. It remains one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of my life. Seeing these kids face that particular adversity and still maintain the capacity to play, run, laugh, sing, chant, and all that was amazing.

When I joined I was lucky enough to not have faced cancer. However, not long after I graduated I lost my grandma to pancreatic cancer. My experiences at Kesem were a tremendous source of strength. As I've grown, I've recommended the camp to friends facing these challenges.

They've all said their kids loved it.

There are so many great charities to support, especially right now, but if you don't have a charity of great personal meaning maybe consider this one? It'd mean the world to me and those who rely on it.
