It& #39;s so weird for me to see progressives, who 12 years ago were furious about Americans talking to foreigners and those phone calls being surveilled with a FISA warrant (albeit a rubber-stamped one) now being like "no big deal." It either is or it isn& #39;t. https://twitter.com/RobertaByTheSea/status/1260668780847472641">https://twitter.com/RobertaBy...
I don& #39;t care about Michael Flynn especially. I don& #39;t think the FBI handled him right and I don& #39;t want them doing that to me, so I care in that regard. I also think he did sell his country out, showed he was monumentally stupid and shouldn& #39;t have been NSA.
And obviously, I get that we surveil foreign govt officials& #39; phone calls and I have no problem with that. But if it involves an American, we need to agree on what standard appropriately protects civil liberties.
And a LOT of people are taking a partisan not principled position that conflicts with where they were a decade ago. Personally, I think you need some sort of warrant. Maybe a FISA, not a constitutional warrant, but FISA court can& #39;t be a rubber stamp.
